Shoot 2 09/10/18 evaluation

The main hinderances in this shoot were the shadows due to only using natural light it was much harder to work around because they can’t be eliminated by repositioning the light source or by using another light source. Also, making sure nothing was in the background was difficult because the patch of grass i was shooting on was very small. Even when taking the photos with the sky as the background I had to avoid phone lines and rooftops getting in frame, those phone lines can be seen in some of my better photos but I am hoping to edit that out of the final pictures if possible.

Editing

I edited the 3 photos on the left using the free online BeFunky photo editor

Changes : Exposure – Shadows 0 to 72

– Contrast 0 to 35

Fill light – 100%

Editing the shadows makes the image to above 0 starts to brighten the image and makes the image and its colours brighter.

Raising the contrast on the photo makes the colours a lot brighter and stronger.

Shoot 4 18/10/18 evaluation

The main hinderance with the light box in this shoot was the positioning of the food as the lighting it provided was already perfect. On the sheet I ran into many problems that led to me not using any of those photos in my final collection. One of the problems I ran into was the sheet’s draping creating shadows with creases, which wouldn’t be a problem if I could blur the background and eliminate them like I have done with the light box backdrops, however the shadows created are so strong they show through the blur. Another problem with this set up was the ring light creating harsh highlights on the happy meals reflective surface which throw off the whole photo.
